We’re traveling to “Waldara” – a rustic family farm nestled in the majestic Central Tablelands of New South Wales, about two-and-a-half hours drive from Sydney. The farm consists of rolling hills, rugged landscapes, manicured seasonal gardens, striking architecture, and spans some 800 acres – leaving plenty of space for cattle, sheep and a substantial wedding party.
The concept for Waldara grew out of the family hosting their own wedding here. This experience of creating a bespoke wedding, set in the countryside surrounded by nothing but nature and the people they loved most, led the family to think this was something unique they wanted to share.

CEREMONY LOCATIONS NSW, MARRIAGE CELEBRANT OBERON
The beauty of a wedding venue of this size is the opportunities for ceremony locations are pretty much endless. And fortunately some of the trickiest logistical pieces are taken care of. Waldara provides beautifully handcrafted chairs and benches for your guests to sit on during the ceremony.
A wooden arbour to frame the occasion. And the all important signing table. If you are imagining a garden party, the lawn, with its seasonal garden, is a popular choice. And the deck is a perfect spot to exchange rings during a heart felt ceremony, followed by lawn games, drinks, and canapés.
Waldara also offers this gorgeous purpose-built Gazebo which makes for an excellent ceremony location, or a beautiful backdrop for photos.
For others, nothing frames the serenity of the moment like water. And as you can see, the Waldara wharf provides serenity for miles.

But of course, weddings and water can get tricky when it’s falling out of the sky. This is where Waldara’s wet weather option is a pretty stunning alternative.
This rustic shearing shed is full of character and is always ready to throw open the doors at the last minute if the skies begin to open.
Another obvious advantage of having a farm at your disposal is there’s a thousand beaut spots for your wedding photos.

Well, Waldara Farm provides a gorgeous cocktail hour location replete with umbrellas, bar tables, lounges, heaters for the cooler nights and a fire pit to really get the romance sizzling. But really, the highlight of your day, other than your celebrant, will be the reception.

Now this is more than your average agricultural barn. Indeed, more than your average reception hall. Here, aside from the stunning architecture, you can pretty much walk in empty handed and know that everything from the hardwood banquet tables teaspoons to the silver teaspoons is taken care of.
The family at Waldara have really considered every luxury here. You’ve got bathroom facilities so no need for a portable toilet, full power, and your remote caterer will love you as there’s a commercial kitchen available for use. And don’t be shy on the guest list, this barn can fit 150 guests comfortably.

WALDARA FARM WEDDING ACCOMODATION
Every weary wedding goer needs a place to rest their head and thankfully the neighbouring town of Oberon is chockers with hotels, holiday parks, BnB’s and farmstays. But for the select few – there’s also one last trick up the Waldara sleeve…
Welcome to “the Lodge”. This is one of two accommodation venues on site at the farm. Originally designed by the family’s Grandfather, it has the cosy feel of a chalet in the Swiss Alps.
Here, 10 of your closest family or mates can bunk down and enjoy their beauty sleep the night before the wedding and a recovery sleep (kip) once the party has died down.
But for the happy couple and the guests of honour, there’s “the Homestead.” This gorgeous farmhouse sleeps 10 and provides the perfect location for a rehearsal dinner the night before, preparation the day of, and reflection the day after. There is also a tennis court to let off a bit of steam before the big day, and a Jacuzzi so you can relax away any worries.
